Jessica You didn't mention what area of California you were going to be in, but if its in the Bay Area, I recommend you try and make it to Monterey. We lived there for awhile and there are gorgeous buildings out there. There is also the ocean! Carmel is awesome too.

aviva CONGRATS! Nate & Jaclyn are amazing, if I lived any closer I'd do the same! They're in Oceanside (north county San Diego) so San Diego is where it's AT! I used to live there. Some great areas... Gaslamp at least one night for food, just go hungry and look at menus around 5th and F. Hillcrest is AMAZZINGGG for foods of all sorts AND shopping!!! Hit north county (Encinitas, Del Mar, Carlsbad) for other shopping and great food. Enjoy breakfasts! The Mission in Hillcrest, Beach Grass Cafe in Solana Beach - both huge family favorites! Casia + Eric Awesome guys...thank you all for the fabulous ideas :) Channon...I love your in-sight on our sunglass shots! We are staying at 'The Pearl' a mid-century modern boutique hotel that's soooooo hip, cute and cozy...I'll take lots of pics. In our room we received a niffty packet titled 'Urbanist' that has all the yummy restaurants+retail in the surrounding area. 'Starlight' sounds really tasty for dinner & 'Cafe Chloe' for breakfast. Aviva...we ate in Carlsbad today and it was GREAT!

aviva omg, you guys are RIGHT near one of my FAAAAAAAAVE restaurants; ISLAND PRIME. It's across from the airport on the little Harbor Island Drive peninsula. Spectacular wine list, and the best steaks you'll ever have in your life. Also a gorgeous view of the downtown skyline. AMAZING date night! Enjoy. I'm jealous!

carson If you guys are in orange county then head over to the Orange Circle in the downtown area of the city of orange. Lost of great shops and tons of awesome places to eat. We used to live there and some of our favorite restaurants are Gabby's, The Filling Station, Felix's, and Taco Adobe. Hope that helps!
