our studio . after shots
So after 3 LONG years of searching for a studio space….. FINALLY it’s here!!! You MUST check out the ‘before shots‘ if you haven’t already. Eric and I have always kept our eyes WIDE OPEN for that one space that screamed ‘us’. You know, the kind you walk into and then the clouds begin to part and the sun peeks through and the…. Ha ok I think you get the idea. Well it was pretty much exactly like that. We’ve had a mighty list and this space fit (most of) it. It’s much larger (around 1,000 sq ft) than we had wanted as our very first space but it was too perfect for us to pass up. And honestly we weren’t quite ready to take the plunge, but when are you really ever?. You just have to jump. I believe that Eric and I are the type to always dream BIG. We are super ambitious with any project we take on and the outcome is always rewarding. Yeah sometimes we bite off more than we can chew but in the end it all works out. HOPEFULLY?. Well we absolutely can’t wait for you all to check it out. I would say we are definitely still in the decorating + staging phase and our next steps are to choose the FABULOUS artwork and go accessory shopping! Yippie, a girl’s favorite part, right?. Huge canvases + bamboo mounted prints + mixed media elements. It’s gonna be sooooooooooooooooooooo dreamy!

Eric designed our SUPER RAD studio sign that perfectly holds our custom biz cards within our entry way.

Our new MOD suite numbers & cute little entry. We picked up these ‘girl + guy’ wall tile vases from CB2. Our most favorite store in the galaxy.

A sweet lil sofa we found on ‘Craig’s List‘…it’s from DWR!!! It soooo needs a bright skinny 23″x11″ pillow in lime or orange, wouldn’t you say?

The white tulip table + chairs were our first addition to the studio found on ‘CL’. Vintage projector was a keeper, scored @ ‘Copper Country‘, a local antique shop.

Whole projection/viewing area (except t.v. & white storage console) were found on but what of course…. Craig’s List!!! Yeah I’ve been deemed the ‘CL QUEEN’. Mossy green sofa originally from Crate & Barrel, which also came from the same seller as the smaller sofa (this seller was sooooooo COOL… he owns 18+ vintage vespa’s!!!). And the orange Eames molded plastic arm chairs designed by Herman Miller were such a special find that I drove all the way to Phoenix one afternoon to pick up!!! Our goal is to infuse mid century modern furniture with new modern accessories.

Our new ceiling fixtures consists of 8 white porcelain light sockets + 8 round bulbs dipped in silver to bounce the light upward. Total cost around $35 buckaroos…TOTAL! Vintage adjustable floor lamp I like to call the ‘Big Pixar’. It goes perfectly over the mossy green sofa.

New addiction!!! All vintage + working!

These are some ‘Sketch-Up’ models that Eric created so that you all can see what we envision for the finished look, minus the accessories!

The White columns that separate the office will actually be bookcases that will house our artbooks/mags + vintage cameras. They will have shelves only on the office side and on the ‘common area’ side where the white round table is they will be like a partition wall. We’ll be able to hang artwork or a clock or even a funky white high gloss moose head. We LOVE quirky details, don’t you?.

Our ideas are ENDLESS with the large white wall. We’re leaning towards mixed media elements hung on the wall along with our artwork. Maybe all high gloss white frames (no glass) butted up close together (filling most of the wall) that perfectly display our photography. Or even a HUGE graphic wall decal that say’s ‘it’s all about the emotion’. Cheesy?
