One of the best decisions we have ever done is re-locating to downtown Tucson. Our loft and work studio are now only a mile from one another. This has given us a ton of opportunities to meet and mingle with other like-minded people. We kick ourselves in the butt for not doing it sooner! We were made to live in this community and are now surrounded by other young professionals, many with families, who inspire and motivate us. They just plain get it. They want equal opportunity, a healthy ‘green’ oriented lifestyle, better ‘life’ education for their children and plenty of coffee. That sounds good… we’ll take that! Looking back it’s hard to imagine the lifestyle we were stuck in. We didn’t know the majority of our neighbors, let alone talk to them. We didn’t take care of our bodies the way we should. We hated being disconnected from where we knew the action was. The list goes on an on… We attribute ALL of our success to the people we have surrounded ourselves with and feel nothing but gratitude. We have come A LONG WAY and will never look back!
For today’s headshot, we have the pleasure of featuring the inspirational green-goddess herself, also know as Mel of From Here to Whole. We were introduced to her by a good mutual friend. Ryan, who is also designing her new web presence, encouraged her to hire us. He knew we would capture the real Mel. Ryan, along with his wife Sheena and two rugrats, are a testament to the power of surrounding yourself with like-minded people. They have helped shape who we are today. We wouldn’t have met, had we not become involved with our local community. Mel has also experienced a personal transformation filled with positive changes. Her health coaching work inspires many and lets us know that we are on the right path, living healthier happier lives. SIGN US UP!
“Let’s drop some phat hyperbolic-sounding beats, shall we? I’m blown away. These photos are, to use an overused word, amazing. Truly more than I could’ve ever hoped for. I’ve no doubt the images will add legitimacy to my online business presence, and you can’t put a price on that. From every corner of my heart, thank you.” – Mel
When talking to our clients for the first time, they always mention how they don’t like getting their picture taken. Who does? It can be an uncomfortable, unsettling event. In fact, many of them reference a “bad” experience where they were photographed in a stale lifeless environment, had to hold a stiff lame pose for way toooooo long or simply just didn’t connect with the photographer. We’ve all been there, done that. Everyone remembers their high school senior portraits, are we right? We’ve found the only way to curb this anxiety is to discuss the overall goal for the shoot. What are they looking to achieve? How do they want to be portrayed? How can we help effectively present this to others? These are all vitally important questions that we guess were not asked in their previous “bad” experience. LISTENING IS KEY. Once you’ve heard their ideas repeat them back. It’s a simple yet important step. It let’s them know you care and are actually paying attention. Trust us, you’ll immediately see a shift in their language. Any previous objections begin to fade away like a distant memory and the real collaboration can begin. Give it a whirl, we dare ya!
For today’s headshot we have the pleasure of featuring the sassy, yet regal Edna. She found us through a mutual friend and had some of the exact same apprehensions we mentioned earlier. We overcame them by setting the tone from our very first conversation. We listened, built trust and from that moment on she was on board. It shows!
“You guys really know what you are doing!” – Edna
