Third round of photographs from ‘The Click’ outing in Sedona.  Emily & Elliot…everyone called them E & E.  They were such good sports.  We asked them…actually made them :) …climb down the banks of a fairly steep wash to get these shots.  Now remember Emily was wearing a borrowed cute white jacket.  Red soil…white jacket, not a great mix.  That’s why Eric held it most of the time.  Again he’s always holding peoples stuff…what a trooper! Thanks you guys for trusting us…but it was sooooo worth it!  I can only describe these photos as gentle…if that makes any sense. They are a beautiful couple and it was a pleasure to photograph them!!!

Second round of photographs from ‘The Click’ outing in Sedona.  Mickey & Jesse were awesome…but they should be!!! Jesse is Joe Pangburn’s brother, so he’s gotta have lots of practice :) .  We shot in this little park area down by the creek…their suggestion BTW.  It rocked and so did the strange substance that ended up all over my clothes from the rollin’ around in the grass.  Nobody could figure out what it was and I’m not sure I care to know…really!!!  Funny thing was, all the other photographers that saw it though it was part of my clothing design.  GO FIGURE!  We love to shoot couples so we of course had a blast.  Mickey & Jesse are soooo photogenic and both hammed it up…as you will see!!!  Chess anyone?

We had about an hour of light left on New Year’s day before we headed out for a mini shoot with my shinny new toy. Canon 5D mark II.  I was looking to capture that buttery light and golden hour to a tee. And since it was a miracle for both of us to have the day off together we knew we had to play around.  This was my only focus and what ever else we got would be the cherry on top. Through the hour she kept asking me ‘what do you want me to do?…how do you want me to stand?’  I said ‘just stare at my lens and I’ll do the rest.’  When I said this I think she thought ‘these are not gonna be so hot!’…LOL.  I guess what most people don’t think of when it comes to a shoot is…as little direction as possible seems to let their pure essence roam free.  There’s no stuffy awkwardness.  Just simple exploration around a subject and the environment which holds them.  I pretty much just said ‘look out this way’, ‘look down’, look out of the corner of your eye’, ‘LAUGH’.  The laughing one always comes off CHEESY but totally works.  You almost have to be over the top to make it believable in the lens.  So I just chuckle like a big bellied man! Ha. Or I do something silly which always catches them off guard.  It’s these moments that get the so-called $$$ shot!  I totally *heart* these.  Julie has had lots of experience in front of the camera ever since our days as kids with a simple camera and needing a subject to photograph.  She’s my little sister and is always always always up for anything.  I can think back to every shoot we’ve done together and every time I’m always amazed by her inner beauty.  I’m so lucky to have my little buglet!  Or in this case my guinea.

I love you always & forever.  I couldn’t imagine my life without you.  And those little text messages we send each other just rock my world.  Even if they’re about you being on the crapper :)

So right before xmas came around I got the pleasure to photograph this super fun couple’s flipside engagement session.  These sessions are my absolute favorite thing in the whole wide world along with detour’s & me2’s.  Ok well maybe MR. DQ comes close.  And golden wings from Oregano’s.  And lip gloss. And Anthropology.  So I have a lot.  I’m just glad I get to experience them all.

Speaking of experience…Rhonda & Jerry were so much fun to walk around with.  I was so anxious to see what I could capture with their personalities.  I adore these moments we got.  So real.  And just plain o’ fun. Don’t cha think?  I can’t get over how many different locations we were able to accomplish and to think they were all within a short walking distance of each other.  We covered like 2 blocks.  That’s it.  I just love to walk around and see what jumps out at me and sparks my fancy.  Ha.  Guess that’s just my thing.

I’m so honored to photograph their wedding this March at the historical Stillwell House.  I know it will truly be an uniquely fabulous day that reflects their love.  The quant brick gem holds a very special place in our hearts as well…this is where we too said ‘I do.’

Holy Hanna Hotness!!!  So can’t ya tell I’m excited?.  This past Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Rhonda & Jerry’s flipside session. And they brought me a little surprise…yes this pretty little shinny car rolled into the empty lot. OMG.  I just knew it was going to be a spectacular afternoon with them. Originally we had planned to do a specific top secret clothing/theme idea to start off with for the shoot but things didn’t pan out.  I did get a rain check though to use one day with them when things line up and were able to do exactly what I had in mind.  Here’s a hint…they both are postal carriers & can you guess what I wanted them to wear for fun? That’s all I’m saying.  But this gift on wheels was far more exciting and was a GREAT back up.  Of course we did much more then just this but you’ll all have to wait and see.  Rhonda & Jerry totally shocked me on how ‘daring’ they were.  Makes me giggle and at times I was a tad bit nervous. So to hold you over I did this little peak on how their flipside session began.  Can you believe that Eric took the 2nd & 3rd shots.  Such great details.  I always tell people that he is so meticulous. I think both of us could have shot a thousand different details and they would all be totally different.  Vintage cars ROCK. Again thank you guys for bringing so much inspiration and laughter to the day.  Jerry was tough to crack at times but with the help of Rhonda and her silly witty ‘inside joke’ phrases she had us all rolling.  Tickle tickle.  Yep this is one of them.  Who knew that this would make us all laugh…especially grown men!.
