OK…I think this shot is becoming a staple around here in Purple Nickel land. We seem to create it with every session. It’s so fun and everytime it’s completely different. The background, the amount of legs, the variety of shoes, and most noticeably…everyone’s posture. It totally expresses their personality & how they contrast each other. This past Friday, we had the opportunity to shoot the Hatch family…Nathan, Amber, Lucas & little Devan. I LOVE how Nathan & Lucas have the typical ‘guy stance’, straight on GQ!!! Then Amber & Devan have the totally girly ‘free’ spirited stance. AWESOME!!! I didn’t even notice this until I was working on the image…it’s what I call a ‘happy accident!’. This family was so much fun to work with. Down to earth, silly and very much ‘go with the flow’. That’s how Eric & I live our lives and we are so thrilled that we are given opportunties to share this with families such as them. And how cool is it that we are able to create artwork souley off personalities like this!

ppa cover photo contest time
This is for all you photo stalkers or photo geeks out there…it’s contest time and it’s on like donkey kong! Only ‘ONE’ image can be submitted….WHAT!!! How will I ever choose??? Maybe I’ll do a post on my top 5 favorites and you can all help me vote?. What a fabulous idea…if I do say so myself!

OMG…I’m finally done working on the images from Sedona’s shoot out! PHEW…I didn’t think I would have this much to work with. But I wanted to treat everyone like an actual flipside or detour session. I have lots of portfolio image to showcase now. How do I ever choose? Maybe I’ll have to get all ‘YOU’ blog stalkers to vote for your favorites by leaving comments in each session!!! Yes that’s a great idea. Though you can usually tell which are my mine due to the size on the blog. Ha. So let’s end the fabulous shoot with Mrs. Donovan. You think she would be tired of modeling for us crazy photogs but when I asked her about it her response didn’t shock me…’NEVER!’. That’s July for ya. Always spontanious and out-going. That’s why I like her soooo much. It’s never a boring minute with her. Since she was one of the last models standing I was able to grab a few unique shots by the creek before it got too cold and before we lost the golden light. When most left…she just kept letting us direct her. That’s what is kinda nice about losing the light…cause unless you have flash…it’s all over. For everyone! And then she can stop..Ha!

stacy & michael . detour
We loved these two. Finally the last round of photographs are being posted to our blog from ‘The Click’s’ outting a few weeks ago in Sedona, Arizona. I believe we were the last photogs of the group to photograph them. I don’t even wanna know how many rounds they went through…but they certainly were troopers. Michael had a bum leg or foot to?. Lots of jumping on the trampoline or something. So of course we kept teasing him about his limp. Ha. But seriously. They were a great joy to work with & totally had everything down by the time we got to work with them. When we would ask them to laugh…they did! When we told them to bring out the serious model look…they did! It was so easy. Yay…hardly any posing on our part. Just simple plain ol’ directing. That’s it. The rest was all them. And Stacy, what a ROCK STAR…let me tell you. She mentioned to me after we were done photographing that she’s changed quite a bit since they got married many many years ago…I didn’t believe her at first cause she’s gorgeous. But hearing her story made her even more beautiful and couragous. She’s amazing and soooooo sweet. And I’m so thrilled that we were able to photograph the ‘NEW’ her! How cool is that.

I wanted to get a sneak peek up quickly for the Sattler family since I just knew Angi & her daughter Audrey were probably getting anxious and losing sleep with anticipation…LOL! We were delighted to capture the whole family on this past Sunday afternoon around the Tucson downtown area. We headed to our favorite spots of course! And found a new one as well located near 4th avenue in a random alley way. Hence the super unique teal aged brick wall. Gosh when I saw this shot I instantly knew it was a soon-to-be favorite. I just LOVE the closeness. And I *heart* how Audrey is the only one looking at me! She totally hammed it up all through our time together. She’s a doll and I soooooo adore her. Angi is also right when she says that she’s a ‘big’ personality girl. I also think this image is quite unique cause little brother Kyle is of course trying to avoid the camera at all costs. He was either doing that or making silly faces the whole time. Priceless. But I worked my magic and I know Angi & Brad are going to be throughly shocked and ah-mazed at what variety we captured. We had a ball and can’t wait to post more soon!
